Suzanne Jensen, Dean of Curriculum & Instruction

My name is Suzanne Jensen and I am honored to be the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction here at Pioneer Preparatory School. My love of education began at an early age, probably because I come from a long line of Educators-Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and even a cousin. I guess you could say, “Education is in my blood.” I am a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (ESL endorsement). I acquired my Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. Being a mother of two teenage daughters keeps me “in touch” with “the junior high and high school life,” and also finds me after school watching volleyball games and dance performances. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching students in several different grade levels and in several different types of school environments. While at Pioneer, I have had the opportunity to teach the ELL/Enrichment class, along with being the Instructional Coach. Using interactive learning, differentiated instruction, and student progress monitoring, we here at Pioneer Preparatory School strive to encourage higher order thinking skills in our scholars which keeps them engaged and excited! It is my goal to help the administrative team meet the needs of our classroom teachers, support staff, and scholars who are on our campus. My passion for children to learn and achieve is what drives me to be a part of Pioneer Preparatory School’s mission. I feel that all children can learn when given the right tools and support they need to be successful. I am blessed to be a part of Pioneer’s Administration team that has such passion and vision, for student achievement and community relationships. I look forward to a great 2019-2020 school year.
